Significant Celebrations for Regional Catholic Schools

11.09.24

In the past months, two regional Catholic schools reached remarkable milestones, showcasing the deep history and strong community bonds that define these institutions. St Joseph’s School in Port Lincoln celebrated its 150th birthday with a weekend full of joyful gatherings. The festivities began with a special morning tea, a celebration dinner at the Port Lincoln Hotel, and school tours, concluding with a heartfelt mass at St Mary of the Angels Church. Past and present staff, students, and families came together, including honoured guests like the Sisters of St Joseph, Bishop Karol, and former principals.

Meanwhile, St Joseph’s School in Barmera marked its 70th anniversary with a vibrant celebration on Father’s Day. The community gathered for a special mass, followed by lunch and birthday cake. Children participated in various roles during the mass, making the event even more memorable.

Both milestones were a testament to the enduring spirit of these schools and the generations of students, staff, and families that have contributed to their legacy. As we celebrate these important achievements, we look forward to many more years of learning, community, and shared memories.
