The Diocese of Port Pirie is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Justin Matthews as the new Deputy Diocesan Director, effective from 31 October 2024. Dr. Matthews, who currently serves as School Performance Leader for the Armidale Catholic Schools Office, brings a wealth of leadership experience in education, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and data-informed practices.

With a deep-rooted Catholic faith guiding his leadership, Dr. Matthews has earned a reputation for fostering strong relationships within school communities. His recent Doctorate in Education from Australian Catholic University focused on improving student outcomes in regional and remote schools, highlighting his dedication to supporting educational growth in diverse areas.

Dr. Matthews is eager to join the Diocese of Port Pirie and looks forward to collaborating with staff, students, and families, as well as working closely with diocesan teams in both Port Pirie and Thebarton. His appointment is expected to further enhance the quality of Catholic education across the diocese.
